Orange You Happy?

“Complacencies of the peignoir, and late, Coffee and oranges in a sunny chair,” wrote Wallace Stevens.

Every time I read this quote it reminds me of summers when I was young, sitting on the front porch with my grandfather drinking  chocolate milk with a slice of orange and watching the day pass by.  Today I still sit on the same porch and watch the day pass me by but instead of chocolate milk, I drink an iced mocha with orange.   In a café, this sweet and tangy summer drink is often called a Valencia. It is a great drink to sit back with and relax in the summer sun.

 Valencia

Place 1 oz of Torani Chocolate sauce and ½ oz of Torani Tangerine (aka Mandarin Orange Syrup) in a 16oz cold cup.  Pour 2 freshly pulled espresso shots over top and swirl.  Add 5oz of milk stir and fill the rest of the glass with ice.  Top with whipped cream and a slice of orange

Now sit back, relax and enjoy your day!

                For all you tea lovers out there don’t be left out in the heat!  Try the Valencia with Mighty Leaf Orange Dulce Iced Tea.

 First, brew some iced tea.  For 1 gallon: brew 6 bags of Mighty Leaf Orange Dulce tea in 2 quarts of hot water for 10 minutes. Remove tea bags and add 1 quart of cold water and 1 quart of ice.

Place 1oz of Torani Chocolate sauce and 10oz of iced Mighty Leaf Orange Dulce tea in a 16oz cup and stir. Add  4oz of milk and fill the rest of the glass with ice.  Top with a slice of orange and enjoy.
