Coming Together for H2OPE

Did you know that more people die from lack of water and sanitation each year than are killed by all forms of violence, including war? Well it’s true: one in nine people on this earth lack access to clean, safe drinking water. This should be a startling fact; we typically take water’s role in our day-to-day activities for granted. It’s something that  many of us always have access to. However, for so many people, access to clean, safe drinking water is a source of uncertainty and potential danger. Whether it’s the treacherous task of collecting water or their increased susceptibility to disease, receiving local access to clean water has been estimated to prevent 2.2 million deaths a year!

This is powerful, and a call to action, to never take your access to drinking water for granted. Now is also the time to take a moment to express your gratitude for the clean water in your life, and help provide clean, safe drinking water to those who need it.

How, you ask? Numi Organic Tea is working with an organization called charity: water to help fund global water projects. The charity: water model is unique in that it is a 100% Model organization; because operating expenses are accrued from private investors, every penny donated by the public is directly invested in the field, helping communities build sustainable supplies of clean water. So how can you get involved? Numi Organic Tea is raising awareness about the worldwide water crisis using social media. We want you to participate! For each image of water posted on Instagram or Twitter with the hashtag #4H2OPE, Numi Organic Tea will donate $1 to charity: water. So take to Twitter and Instagram! Bring your images of water to social media, and join the cause. It can be as simple as a cup of water on your desk, or you can take a picture of a roaring river flowing through a valley. Any image that shows your gratitude for one of the most essential needs in life, with the hashtag #4H2OPE, will make all the difference to those who truly need help. Need inspiration?
