The Tip Jar - Dr. Smoothie Preparation
Tuesday May 5, 2015 // By Landon Christensen
We just wanted to take the time to quickly go over how Dr. Smoothie smoothie concentrates are prepared. Dr. Smoothie offers different lines of smoothie concentrate, we carry their 100% Crushed Fruit, Organics, and Fit Lyte lines. The 100% Crushed Fruit and Organics line are prepared in the same way, whereas the Fit Lyte follows a different method of preparation.
100% Crushed Fruit & Organics. The main ingredients for these lines are: the concentrate itself, ice and a liquid. You can use water, milk, juice or even yogurt. If you use yogurt cut back just slightly on the amount of concentrate you use as it can easily become too thick. We’ve made a video showing the preparation method which you can watch here. In this video we reference a 12 oz size, I’ll do the same here.
For a 12 oz drink you will need to measure out 4 oz of mix, 2 oz of water and fill your your blender or cup to the 12 oz mark. Pour these ingredients into your blender and blend until smooth. This should yield a smoothie that is nicely flavored without being too strong. If you prefer a different flavor strength, you can tweak the measurements until you get a finished smoothie that tastes just right to you.
The Fit Lyte is only slightly different in its preparation. For this, you won’t need to add water as it is a 1:1 concentrate meaning you only need to add ice. Again, we’re making a 12 oz beverage. What you need to do is take your cup and fill it up halfway with the concentrate. Then fill your cup or measure out ice to the 12 oz mark in your blender. Blend until smooth. The directions on the bottle suggest adjusting these measurements if it is too strong or too weak. You can even add water if you desire!
Please feel free to contact us toll-free at 1(866)776-5288 if you have any questions regarding the preparation method for any of the Dr. Smoothie lines. Our customer service representatives are more than happy to assist you with any questions you may have.
