The Tip Jar - How to Make Colored Whipped Cream with Your iSi Quart Cream Profi

Valentine’s Day is all about letting those special people in our lives know that we are thinking about them! Whether it’s a box of candies or a simple card expressing our gratitude for their positive impact on our life,Valentine’s Day encourages us to go the extra mile to say, “You’re special, and you mean so much to me!” This holiday we’ve got a tip to help you show some love with a unique variation of one of the most common garnishes for topping beverages, both hot and cold. That’s right, we are talking about whipped cream, and, no, we aren’t just talking about standard, handcrafted whipped cream using an iSi whip cream profi.
When you think of Valentine’s Day, what comes to mind? Maybe a beautiful batch of red roses, a decadent red-heart shaped box of chocolates, or, maybe even puckered lips. However, there’s one other visual cue that brings our minds to the Holiday of Love, and that’s color! This is an inescapable facet of the holiday which is evident in the holiday displays laden with pink and red packaging. What if we told you that you could make a beautiful pink whipped cream and customize the flavor to fit your featured Valentine’s Day recipe?
Well you can, and it’s easier than you might think! We’ve outlined the steps for preparing colored and flavored whip cream using either the iSi Pint or Quart sized Cream Profi. So why wouldn’t you celebrate this Valentine’s Day with colored, flavored whipped cream in your home or coffee shop?
In the video below, we show you how to create a cherry-flavored, pink whipped cream perfect for Valentine's Day! However, you can use any color and flavor you like! For Valentine's Day we suggest the following flavors: Cherry, Strawberry, Raspberry, French Vanilla, Cinnamon, and Rose! Written directions and ratios are below:
iSi Whip Cream Profi Quart [Shown in Video] - Ingredients:
1 quart (1L) of Heavy Whipping Cream | 3-5oz. syrup | 12 drops food coloring
PROCEDURE: Colored and Flavored Whipped Cream using a Quart sized iSi North America Inc. Whip Cream Profi.
Flavored & Colored Whipped Cream Procedure: iSi Quart Whip Cream Profi Cherry Flavored
- Assemble cap -- Make sure your mixing gasket is securely in place and the applicator tip is tightened all the way. *(NOTE: Don't over tighten the tips; you'll want to be able to remove to properly rinse then dry between uses and the plastic tips are susceptible to cracking.)
- Pour heavy whipping cream to fill line. (500mL for a Pint / 1L for a Quart)
- Add 5oz. or 20 pumps of Cherry Syrup [Use 1.5oz. - 2.5oz for per Pint or 3-5oz per Quart of cream]
- Add 12 drops of red food coloring. *(6 drops will suffice for Pint and may be enough for a Quart; adjust according to desired color intensity.)
- Screw on cap securely and gently shake profi to combine cream and food coloring
- Place a cream charger in holder piercing tip facing up and screw on completely. You should hear a hiss as the charger is pierced and the bottle will feel cool once charger is completely tightened.
- Shake vigorously 8 -10 times
- Unscrew charger holder, remove charger, and recycle used charger
- Garnish drinks and delight your guests.
**Tip: Is your whipped cream melting too fast on those hot drinks? Add slightly more heavy cream, or shake longer, for a denser whipped cream.
iSi Whip Cream Profi Pint - Ingredients:
1 Pint (500mL) of Heavy Whipping Cream | 1.5-2.5oz syrup | 6 drops of food coloring
PROCEDURE: Colored Whipped Cream using a Pint sized iSi North America Inc. Whip Cream Profi.
Colored Whipped Cream Procedure: iSi Pint Whipped Cream Profi Non-Flavored
- Assemble cap -- Make sure your mixing gasket is securely in place and the applicator tip is tightened all the way. *(NOTE: Don't over tighten the tips; you'll want to be able to remove to properly rinse then dry between uses and the plastic tips are susceptible to cracking.)
- Pour heavy whipping cream to fill line. (500mL for a Pint / 1L for a Quart)
- Add 6 drops of red food coloring. *(6 drops will suffice for Pint and may be enough for a Quart; adjust according to desired color intensity.)
- Screw on cap securely and gently shake profi to combine cream and food coloring
- Place a cream charger in holder piercing tip facing up and screw on completely. You should hear a hiss as the charger is pierced and the bottle will begin to feel cool to the touch once your charger is completely tightened.
- Shake vigorously 8 -10 times. *(Test the thickness of your whipped cream, if it's not thick enough shake again; however avoid over shaking or your whipped cream may become too dense.)
- Unscrew charger holder, remove charger, and recycle used charger
- Garnish drinks and delight your guests!
