Colorado Convention Center BearBPS Booth at Coffee Fest Denver

Last week, Coffee Fest convened in Denver, Colorado for the sunshine, mountain air, and even a big blue bear! Since Colorado is the site of Barista Pro Shop’s main warehouse, we have eagerly awaited this home state event and sharing the experience of Colorado specialty coffee and tea with the Coffee Fest sphere.

BPS Booth Team
For three days, we enthusiastically met with attendees to ensure the very best knowledge and advice went to supporting and supplying independent coffee shops. For this show, we were especially excited by our new booth and letting customers put their feet up for a few minutes at our café table. New ideas were inspired, recipe concepts were floated, and plans were made, all in the hopes that everyone would walk away with a few samples and a sense of partnership in BPS.

An entire cohort of Pros represented BPS in Denver, from our Operations Manager, Kentucky Warehouse Manager, the entire Marketing team, almost all of our Customer Service Baristas (someone still had to man the phones back home!), our Café Consultant, the Bakery Manager and of course our fearless leaders: Co-Owners Jay and Jennifer.

J Street Biscuit Co. at Coffee Fest Denver

J Street Reveal

25 years ago, Jay and Jen began a bakery out of a bed and breakfast in Loveland, Colorado. This was J Street Biscuit Co., and it’s come a long way in the years since! This year, we chose Coffee Fest to unveil a return to the name J Street Biscuit Co. for the bakery portion of the business. This includes new product labels, new imagery, and a new take on the original logo. But in case you’re tempted to think the bakery is just a pretty face now, we were honored with third place in the Consumable New Products competition for J Street’s Peanut Butter Chocolate Bar. Not bad for local, handcrafted baked goods!

Coffee Fest Opening Night Reception

The J Street team also saw attendees bright and early each day, passing out pastries for breakfast and greeting people as they prepared for classes and competitions. To keep Coffee Fest nourished, we handed out free scones, muffins, and slices of bread—it was quite the spread!

Opening Night Reception

On Friday, the party didn’t end when the convention hall closed for the day. BPS co-sponsored the Opening Night Reception at Viewhouse Ballpark, just across from Coors Field. Dr. Smoothie and Monin, also co-sponsors, mixed beautiful signature drinks throughout the party. Food, fun, drinks, games of cornhole, and great company were had by all!

Two of Barista Pro Shop’s staff taught classes at Coffee Fest Denver to an energetic reception.
