Tea, Meet Frappe - David Rio Tea Frost

Wednesday April 15, 2015 // By Landon Christensen

Earl GreyTea is a very popular drink that is now offered in coffee shops almost everywhere. Tea is versatile and can be prepared either hot or cold to fit the season or the preference of a customer. When you hear “tea” chances are you either think of it as being prepared hot or cold, but what if there was a third way to offer tea, say, as frappes? Until now frappes and teas, with the exception of Matcha, haven’t typically existed together as one drink. That’s all about to change. David Rio brings us a new premium tea-based frappe line called Tea Frost. Using high quality, real tea leaves that come from all around the world, we are presented with a fresh, distinct taste that is a perfect summer drink. Not only is this perfect for summer, but it is a great way to diversify menus if customers are wanting something new.

Tea Frost brings us five excellent flavors: Earl Grey, English Breakfast, Chocolate Assam, Japanese Matcha, and, of course, Spiced Chai. Each one is perfectly sweetened, creamy, and has an unforgettable balance between tea and frappe. All flavors come in a 2.5lb can, yielding approximately 25 x 12 oz servings. These frappes have no Trans Fat or Hydrogenated Oil. All are gluten-free and made using organic spices, they even have a two year shelf life! The preparation is quite easy as well, which is great for a busy cafe! Simply add milk or milk alternative, Tea Frost and ice, blend until smooth and you’re done!

If you have any further questions about Tea Frost or any of the other products we carry, give us a call toll-free at 1(866)776-5288. We’ve got a great customer service team who would love to help you out!
