The Tip Jar - Sparkling Soda Water Basics

What better way to cool down than with a refreshing italian soda? Just grab the... Oh, we've run out of sparkling water. Nevermind.

Avoid this issue with the quick and easy Soda Siphon from iSi by turning regular water into its sparkling counterpart in just a few moments. Not only is it easy, but you can make it as you need it! Let's quickly go through how to use this product as it can be a bit overwhelming at first. There is also a video tutorial we've put together which you can find here. When you purchase the Soda Siphon it will include everything you need, EXCEPT soda chargers which are sold separately. Make sure to use the soda chargers and not the cream chargers. If you don't have these, unfortunately, you will not be able to make sparkling water. In the box you will find the following: bottle, siphon head, measuring tube, riser tube, cartridge holder, siphon key, and siphon cap.

Step one is to insert the measuring tube into the bottle and push down until it locks into place. After this, fill the bottle with water until the level reaches the bottom of the measuring tube. Please note, the colder the water is, the better it will take carbonation. Next add the riser tube and firmly seat it on the top of the bottle, then screw on the siphon head tightly. Once that is done grab a soda charger and the cartridge holder, insert the charger into the holder with the tip facing out. Twist the holder and charge onto the valve firmly until you feel the tip puncture. You will know this has been done because the CO2 will rush into the bottle. Firmly shake for a few minutes to integrate the CO2 with the water. Remove the charger and safely discard the cartridge, be careful as it can be extremely cold from being rapidly emptied. Screw on the siphon cap over the valve. Should you need to remove the measuring tube at any point, use the siphon key. The key twists and locks into the measuring tube so that you may pull it straight out. At this point test the siphon into a cup or sink just to make sure it is properly pressurized and carbonated. If all goes well you can now make italian sodas, cocktails, or just enjoy sparkling water on its own!
